I'm working on the Baby Kimono, and I tried to follow the instructions for the M1 increase - but it left a hole! Can you see it?
Look by right side of the collar - the HOLE IS THERE! So, instead, I knit into the front and back of the second stitch to increase around the collar. I'm okay with that, but what am I doing wrong?
Very dear friends left for the mission field in Africa today. DH is sick. The little ones have been smiling and hugging all day.
Happy knitting!

Not that I'm a pro or anything. But, when I do a M1 I twist the stitch I lifted around...before I knit it...and it seems to close the hole. I knit one of these kimono's last summer and frogged the entire thing because I couldn't seam the sleeves. I knit mine in stockinette. Definately garter should hide the seaming better. I think yours is garter. Hard to tell with the photo...and my before coffee eyes.
And about the cow. My Dad's Aunt Kate had a dairy farm. I was about 8. We milked cows and chased lightning bugs/fireflies and had a wonderful time. I want more than anything for my kids to see a farm too. Kate's farm isn't in the family any more.
