I signed up to participate in Summer of Socks 2009, with the goal of completing two pairs of fancy pants socks. (The only socks I've knitted have been boring stockinette.) As with all my knitting goals since Baby Girl was born, I'm super behind. However, I'm pretty pleased with what I have accomplished so far:
The pattern is from the Ann Budd book Getting Started Knitting Socks. It's a basic sock pattern, with a lace motif pattern added (the motif is in the back of the book. I don't have the name handy at the moment.) This is the best picture I managed to take of the lace:
I've got Christmas knitting on my mind - nervous about meeting those goals. So, I'm amending my SOS goals to finishing a pair of socks by the end of September. I also need to finish the February Baby Sweater I've started for the babe. After that, it's all Christmas (except for the Pumpkin Hat I'm planning for the baby, and whatever other little novelty knits cross my path.) It's moments like these I wish the laundry folded itself. Or that the kids were old enough to fold it for me - except they would be too old to want to wear the cute little knits I'd be making them.
Life's rough sometimes.
Happy Knitting!

I thought that yarn looked remotely familiar, I had to go take a look in your projects on Rav to see if it was what I thought. :) And it was. The socks look lovely. :)
